Ok, as many of you have already asked and wondered, we have the dates for the end of the season's points race. The final day for tournaments is Sunday December 7th. Now as it run the Sit and Go tournaments on Saturdays, which incur no points, and the lack of players to play on Sundays Tournaments. The final day for our poker room will be on Friday December 5th.

Now there will be two (2) different tournaments following the seasons end with two (2) freerolls that have been anticipated by many players. On Sunday December 14th, the top 10 in seasonal points will enter into a $2000.00 total payout freeroll. This will be a 10 person single table tournament. Payouts will be announced before the tournaments start. Both of these tournaments have a start time of 4:00pm.

The second freeroll, is a special 40 person, 4 table - 10 person per table) tournament. 40 players will have their name drawn randomly from the ticket drum, by the charity, and those 40 people will play in the tournament. Names will be drawn on Sunday December 7th, after the normal prize wheel drawing at 4:30pm. You do not need to be present for you name to be drawn for the 40 person freeroll. But you still need to be present for the prize wheel drawing at 4:30pm in order to win.

All names that are drawn and all points players will be finalized on Sunday December 7th and posted here as well as in the forums. All listed players will be automatically guaranteed a seat in these tournaments. If you can not make it to these tournament(s) you will still have your seat, but you will be blinded off until you no longer have chips at your seat.

YOU AND ONLY YOU, CAN PLAY YOUR SEAT!

In the event you are in the top ten (10) in seasonal points AND your name is drawn for the 40 person freeroll, you must decide which tournament you wish to play. You may not play in both. One or the other. Your decision must be made by a verbal announcement to the Tournament Director, by email (td (at) pokeratdamons.net), or in writing. (Make sure you sign and date your submitted written notification.)

Since the official date for the seasons end is Sunday December 7th, prize notification will not take place until that time. Also at this time, the seasonal points race winner will, in writing, state their preference in the season distribution method (Trip to Tunica, Hotel Accommodations and Tournament Buy-in) or the Cash Equivalent.
All further information regarding the payout of the Seasons Points Winning is still pending, Sorry. As soon as I have the information, I will pass it on to you!

As many have already heard, we are going to be open 7 days a week starting on October 6th, 2008. With this change our hours have changed a bit to be more compatible with Damons and their scheduling woes. We cant just do whatever we want there. We do need to find common ground with our gracious location host. With that comes compromises, some good, some bad.

Our New Hours of Operation:

Sunday 2pm - 12am
Monday 5pm - 12am
Tursday 5pm - 12am
Wednesday 5pm - 12am
Thrusday 5pm - 12am
Friday 5pm - 1am
Saturday 2pm - 1am

Please note, these hours may change at any given time. We open up at these times but it doesnt always mean we have a game playing right away, as we sometimes need to wait for players to arrive in order to start a game up. So if you do show up and there is no game currently playing, be sure to add your name to the list so we know for sure when we have enough players to start.

We will also be starting a tournament each day of the week as well. The new Monday - Wednesday tournaments are not yet posted, but you can expect a $25 Freeze out on Mondays. I will have the rest posted in the next day or two.

Also, the Sit n Go tournaments are a big hit, we have run into a snag with them. Sometimes we are not getting enough players (9) to fill the table in order for it to run properly. We have decided to offer 2 different Sit n Go tournaments. A 9 player and a 6 player. Alas, the 6 player tournament does have a higher buyin of $30, where as the 9 player buyin is $20. This will still offer the same payouts as the 9 player tournament with the same amount going twords the charity. We apologize for the increased buyin amount but it was necessary to do so in order to offer the 6 player Sit n Go.

We are adding one additional rule to the Sit n Go player list:

If you are currently playing in a sit and go and wish to play in the next one as well. You may place your name on that list, but your name will be placed on a "Waiting List". Your name will remain on the waiting list until the current Sit n Go you are playing is over, then, and ONLY then, will your name be placed on the "To Play" list. The "To Play" list is the list of players wanting to play but NOT currently in another tournament game. Those names have priority over those on the "Waiting List" This is being done in order to give all players the opportunity to play without having the lists pre-filled with the same players repeatedly for each Sit n Go.

Thank You, for understanding and your patronage. See you soon!

My apologies to everyone for the lack of the site updates. I got behind in updates and had a family emergency to deal with as well. But things are getting better and Im getting caught back up.

On a side note regarding the tournaments of recent. The 'race off' in particular. Its certainly not the favored way of chipping up, as many of you have expressed your thoughts of it to myself and others. The 'race off' was a request from the charity that it be done, so we obliged. Most casinos do use that method and we gave it a try. With that said, we will go back to doing our normal chip up process. But if a charity asks us to use the 'race off' we will do so, but I will contest it with them before so.

Rebuy tournaments... Ugh, theres a touchy subject with some. I had talked with a few people and the majority would like to see the rebuy disappear entirely on Fridays. There are some good and bad points to them. First, they are our biggest payout tournaments, each time it seems to get a little bigger (over $600 for first place in the most recent rebuy) but at the same time, we are losing some regular players because of the rebuy. They simply refuse to play in a rebuy, which I understand.

Now I have stated this past weekend that we are finished with the rebuy tournament on Fridays. We are replacing it with a $75 Freeze out starting this Friday! This is a trial run for this bigger stakes tourney. Now, if we don't get enough players on a regular basis, we will have to bring back the rebuy. So, to make this new Friday tournament a success, I need your help... remember the more players we have the bigger and the more payouts we have!

Oh, speaking of payouts, I am extending the payouts a bit as well. The charity will still get 20%, from the remainder of the pot the payouts will be as follows:

20 Players or less = 3 payouts
21 to 27 Players = 4 Payouts
28 to 36 Players = 5 Payouts
37 to 45 Players = 6 Payouts
1 additional payout for every 9 players there after

I hope everyone will enjoy and benefits form this new payout schedule. Thanks goes out to a few players who have given their ideas and suggestions. You know who you are... Thank You!

Just a reminder that on Saturday the 13th (9-13-2008) we are holding a special $50.00 buyin tournament for the charity that week. Starting chip stack will be $5000 and a different blind structure will be used as well.

Also we are going to continue the Saturdays Sit n Go tournaments for this week (9-6-2008) and will continue on a regular basis after the week of the 13th (due to the special $50 tournament scheduled that day). Now on Sundays it is looking to be the new day for the $40 +$10 Bounty tournament. The bounty tourny would start at 7pm on sunday but this is not yet set in stone. I will keep you all posted. We should have things finalized by the 11th (Thursday of next week) but things are looking very promising.

Remember, there are no points awarded for any Sit n Go tournament, but the regular, as well as the bounty, tournaments do award points!
